Not only isn't there an official tool built in for this, but Lance Ulanoff, Lifewire's editor-in-chief, says there's no safe or surefire way to do that either. It is one of many other "facts" on Facebook that are not true.

Another common 'hack' floating around the internet claims to show who has visited your Facebook profile. The method involves looking at the “View page source” icon and searching for “InitialChatFriendsList.” Doing so reveals the profile numbers, but there is no way to confirm that those numbers and accounts actually represent the people who visited your profile, according to Ulanoff. And there's no solid data from Facebook to verify this, Filho adds. These numbers could be people you actually call or people you chat with frequently on Facebook Messenger, says Ulanoff. "In fact, the data from the source code method makes a list similar to the list of conversations you might find in the right sidebar of your profile," says Philho.
